About us
During a hiatus from my ‘normal’ work life, I became a full-time stay-at-home mum. Like many mums, I found myself wondering how I could still contribute to the household while juggling daily life, hospital appointments, and the ever-changing needs of my two young boys.
Before motherhood, I’d dipped my toes into a bit of everything, business admin, direct sales, customer service (both in-person and remote), but deep down, I knew a 9 to 5 behind a desk just wasn’t for me anymore. Not with recurring health challenges, including endometriosis, and now ongoing thyroid issues that require surgery.
But through all the chaos, I kept asking myself: what brings me joy? What feels like me?
I’ve always loved plants. I grew up on a beautiful tropical island in the Indian Ocean, surrounded by lush greenery. My parents grew everything: flowers, vegetables, fruits. I used to grow corn from seed as a teenager just to make pocket money! That deep-rooted love for nature inspired my first business, Jungle Africa , a little online nursery for plants and accessories.
Over time, though, I faced real challenges with plant shipping and shifting trends. At the same time, my journey took an unexpected turn: I was diagnosed with bowel cancer. I underwent a hemicolectomy, and life as I knew it changed. It was one of the hardest periods of my life, but it also made me reflect on what I wanted to create, not just for income, but for healing, for joy, and for purpose.
That’s when the seed of something new began to grow.
Combining my love for nature and my fascination with handmade artistry, I slowly transitioned into crafting plant-inspired jewellery and accessories. My creations reflect both the beauty of the natural world and the resilience it takes to bloom after life’s hardest seasons.
Each piece is handmade with care, using crystal beads, glass beads, and high-quality metals like stainless steel and precious metals. Sustainability matters to me, so I package everything in eco-friendly materials, because I believe in caring for the Earth just as much as I care about my craft.
Jungle Africa has evolved into more than a business. It’s a celebration of growth, of motherhood, of survival and of the beauty that can come from starting again.
Thank you for being part of this journey.
With love,
Anne
